The current Church of Scientology defines the word "scientology" as literally meaning "the study of truth." Deception, witholding information. and telling untruths or variations of the truth are acts/behaviors that are not conducive in the slightest to the study of truth. How can the truth be studied if it is not known or if it is witheld? It can't. This petition--if approved--will simply allow the truth to be known so that it can be properly studied. Wow...what a concept, huh? Hopefully, this will lead to even more truths about the Church of Scientology being revealed so that Scientologists can study to their heart's content!
If there are any Scientologists--or anyone for that matter--out there who believe that they can indeed study that which they have no knowledge of, you are delusional and the Church of Scientology is more than willing to take your money and the precious time that you have been given on this earth in exchange for reinforcing your delusion.
The practice of Scientology is like paying to eat plastic fruit when a limitless basket of fresh fruit is sitting directly in front of you which costs nothing. The plastic fruit fills you up, but since it has no nutritional value, it leaves you craving and totally unaware that you are, in fact, starving to death. Bon apetite!

"'Church of Scientology is more than willing to take your money and the precious time that you have been given on this earth in exchange for reinforcing your delusion.'
AHAHAHAHAHAH. ok, so basically, i sign over my bank balance, and you'll feed me bollocks about being possessed by aliens. you need to see a doctor. In case your tiny IQ did not allow for you to realise this, but 'truth' cannot be defined in religon (oh no sorry, correction CULT) , nor can it in science. There will never be enough evidence to suggest any form of truth in the topic you study. My other dilemma, and this makes me laugh the most; Is that you have chosen to devote yourself to a CULT that was formed by a science fiction writer;
"Writing for a penny a word is ridiculous. If a man really wants to make a million dollars, the best way would be to start his own religion"
oh no, of course, L. Ron Hubbard was OBVIOUSLY not making up a cock and ball story and presenting it to thick, weak minded people like you as a religion, to make his 'million dollars' no, of course not.
My advice to you is get a brain transplant, or failing that, just kill yourself. The world doesn't need people like you, you're a waste of existance.
" You're the one who needs a brain transplant, you moron. Did you even read innocent's post? I guess not. Jebus. GTFO!

"jjhjh" Yeah...I hear that it is pretty tough in prison. Jerry Bean, Angela Shay, Dawn Gross, and Don Lay may soon find out. The matter is presently before the Indiana State Supreme Court, and I am prepared to take it to the US Supreme Court if necessary. By the way, how is the weather in Florida?

According to Michael Lewitz, "they are of such influence that they can order cocaine delivered to the room just like room service." For your sake, I sincerely hope that your comment is of the "tongue in cheek" variety, however, and that you don't really have a cocaine addiction or a desire to give up your free will and autonomy by joining a cult. Good luck to you.

Your choice of words is extremely interesting since I have not once referred to Michael in those pejorative terms. Michael has a serious but treatable mental illness and he had absolutely no choice in the matter. He had actually been managing it quite well until he met Donald C. Lay, Jr., Ph.D. (the real nut job in this whole situation) who is disturbed enough to think that subjecting Michael to an ongoing program of coercive persuasion in order to greatly alter his self-concept, perception of reality, and social relationships in addition to creating the psychological forces necessary to allow him to exert undue influence over his independent decision-making ability is OK.
I am simply attempting to help a good friend who, because of his disorder, does not see the grave danger that he is in and is therefore unable to help himself. If that's what you believe constitutes a "nut job," then I guess that's what I am.

Thank you for your response.
I, unfortunately, had to learn a lot about BPD in a relatively short amount of time. The fact that an unscrupulous individual has taken advantage of my friend Michael's psychological vulnerability and is subjecting him to an ongoing program of coercive persuasion without his knowledge or consent has greatly compounded the situation. Donald C. Lay, Jr., Ph.D. has absolutely no concern whatsoever over thefact that he is causing injury--possibly irreparable--to Michael.
Literally overnight Michael went from telling me that I was the best person whom he had ever met to assaulting me with a hunting rifle when I went to visit him in Reynolds, IN. Just seeing me precipitated a reactive psychosis--his pupils dialated to the point that his eyes turned completely black and he flew into an uncontrollable rage. This period of relative calm that he is now experiencing after his last episode of dysphoria has everyone who has met him in Indiana believing that there is nothing wrong and they have convinced Michael that nothing is wrong, so he refuses to get evaluated for BPD. If and when Michael is able to break out of the delusion that he has now grown to accept as his new reality and he realizes how he has been deceived, controlled, and manipulated, there is the very real potential for a possible murder/suicide, and everyone in Indiana seems to think that I'm pursuing this as a way to simply entertain myself.
I hope that you received your diagnosis before it was allowed to destroy any of your meaningful relationships.
Hang in there!

If you are not one and the same person I would be very surprised...the "tone" of writing is identical . I would bet that you actually clear your throat before you begin to type. There's also the similar lack of comprehension--it's as if you are so focused on your agenda that you only catch a passing glance at the essay that you're commenting on, and that's if you even read it at all. The "my mind's made up so don't confuse me with facts" mentality is highly pronounced.
For something to be libelous it has to be a misrepresentation that is malicious and intended to harm one's reputation. I am not the bad guy here. This is not an attack on Michael. Michael is a victim of very ignorant and unscrupulous people who value their own desires over the mental health of a vulnerable individual whom they have deceived, controlled, and manipulated. Michael is unaware that anything has even been done to him so he can't even protect himself from the psychological injury being inflicted upon him. The reactive psychosis that he experienced when I attempted to visit him in June 2005 is not an illness in itself but a symptom of an underlying mental illness. He needs to be evaluated so he can be treated. You do not have the right to make that decision for him!
This site will come down when Michael is evaluated for BPD, but not before March 17, 2007 when my FDA petition is no longer available for public comment. You could do the decent thing and tell Michael the truth.

By all means study Scientology's religiousfreedomwatch.org Dead Agent site. The site was originally registered to the Scientology Parishioners' Committee front-group, but I guess that didn't distance it enough from the Church of Scientology. And after you've had a look, ask yourself: what kind of church would operate that kind smear site against its critics?
After South Park, I was expecting a page like this http://home.primus.ca/~ronsharp/rfwstan.jpg, but no luck so far.

Hunderds of thousands of americans enjoy the benefits of Scientology with no side effects. There have been no official study that implies that Scientology practices are harfull in any way. Only personal opinion of some bias profecionals. This is just a bias attack against the religious beliefs of one religious group. Attacks like this happened in the 70ths with not result. Do you think this attack willl fly now that that Scientology is at full momentun. Come on this absurd. The only thing that will acomplish is give Scientology more exposure and make it grow more.

Who determined it? Who are the "officials" Better yet, Who is Jerry Stanton?
Is he an audthority on the subject? Credentials please!
The following statement.
"The Church of Scientology's practice of auditing has been determined to constitute a form of coercive persuasion. Persons subjected to coercive persuasion without their knowledge or consent may sustain irreparable physical and psychological injury up to and including schizophrenia, self-mutilation, and suicide"
Who made this determination and on what basis of fact? If any. This is simply a biased opinion and of Jerry Stanton Is he talking about the Church of the Freezone? They are vastly different subjects.
The problem with saying "all women are mad" is that you label the majority because of the faults of the few. This is often done by people who cannot distinquish the difference between people and label all people the same.
Jerry Stanton is demonstrating this lack of ability when it comes to Scientology.

Are these "mad" women insane or are they angry? The problem with using the word "mad" is that it has more than one connotation. This is often done by people with a very basic and pedestrian vocabulary.
The person who made the "mad women" comment is demonstrating their lack of clarity when it comes to writing using the English language.

Some may argue (some already have argued) that forcing the Church of Scientology to disclose the possible harmful affects of "auditing" will somehow restrict one's freedom of religious choice. That argument is absolute nonsense. Labeling simply provides information. By not disclosing the possible negative effects that can stem from a decision to practice Scientiology, the Church of Scientology is actually restricting the freedom of religious choice. An actual, bona fide "choice" to practice Scientology can not be made unless a person has all of the information regarding the practice of Scientology available to them. The deception practiced by the Church of Scientology, in effect, robs that person of their freedom of religious choice, which I would think could be considered a violation of TITLE 18, U.S.C., SECTION 241, "CONSPIRACY AGAINST RIGHTS."
