Fighting back a tear, I'm finding it hard to face that
I've added yet one more year Toto the time already wasted.
Time spent alone trying hard to connect
with others--humanity--to be a part of that sect.
It's not a hallucination, but a lack of validation.
My need to be understood only leads to frustration.
Separateness is not an illusion, I've found.
When no one seems to hear me do I still make a sound?
If from a crowded room I suddenly vanished into thin air,
would anyone even notice? Would anyone care?
Would anyone even know that I had once been there...
alone in the crowd fighting back a tear?
