I, unfortunately, had to learn a lot about BPD in a relatively short amount of time. The fact that an unscrupulous individual has taken advantage of my friend Michael's psychological vulnerability and is subjecting him to an ongoing program of coercive persuasion without his knowledge or consent has greatly compounded the situation. Donald C. Lay, Jr., Ph.D. has absolutely no concern whatsoever over thefact that he is causing injury--possibly irreparable--to Michael.
Literally overnight Michael went from telling me that I was the best person whom he had ever met to assaulting me with a hunting rifle when I went to visit him in Reynolds, IN. Just seeing me precipitated a reactive psychosis--his pupils dialated to the point that his eyes turned completely black and he flew into an uncontrollable rage. This period of relative calm that he is now experiencing after his last episode of dysphoria has everyone who has met him in Indiana believing that there is nothing wrong and they have convinced Michael that nothing is wrong, so he refuses to get evaluated for BPD. If and when Michael is able to break out of the delusion that he has now grown to accept as his new reality and he realizes how he has been deceived, controlled, and manipulated, there is the very real potential for a possible murder/suicide, and everyone in Indiana seems to think that I'm pursuing this as a way to simply entertain myself.
I hope that you received your diagnosis before it was allowed to destroy any of your meaningful relationships.
